Landscaper Testimonials And Reviews
We moved into our present home in Governors Club early in 1996. Jim Riley did all of our landscaping, and, nearly 10 years later, it still looks wonderful. Jim used mature plants so that the house and yard would not look so new. They were also healthy plants, and almost all survive to this day. I believe that only one died and was replaced by Jim at no charge. He also designed and installed our irrigation system, both drip and turf, and he has always responded quickly when that system needed tuning.
Jim knows instinctively what plants do well in what places. Especially when he planted trees, he got them from nurseries whose soil had the same characteristics as our soil. In sum, he is good at what he does and is a very pleasant man with whom to work.

Jim has designed and landscaped three different houses for us. Jim made each one unique (one low maintenance, one more formal, and one more rustic) and also compliments the others and the surrounding woods and pasture land. Jim has maintained and surprised us (with our blessings) with new plants and trees since we started this project 5 years ago. Working with him during the process and having him around still taking care of all that he has planted is a joy and learning experience. Jim put in 2 Koi fish ponds with a waterfall in the front of our house that are connected by a bubbling stream that runs under the walkway to the front door. It was done in the way so it blends into the landscape and appears as if it has always been there. We have contracted Jim to maintain the properties and the ponds and we have found him to be reliable, creative and dependable. Jim designed and installed an irrigation system for the lawn, raised vegetable gardens, and flower beds. Jim stands behind his work and takes care of any problems in a timely manner.

Jim Riley took a 2.3 acre project at our home on Laurel Hill Road in Chapel Hill approximately 13 years ago. As a result of his countless hours of work and his multi-talented skills, our yard was completely transformed. We were asked to place our yard on the Chapel Hill Garden Club Tour twice within an 8 year period, an unusual and noteworthy honor.
Jim's landscaping plan blended the "formal" landscaping with the surrounding natural wooded area.
He was able to access a multitude of nurseries in and around the area and throughout the state to obtain a huge variety of unusual and larger than average sized plants, shrubs and trees. Jim also installed an extensive irrigation system.
Jim was a delightful and dependable person to deal with in every aspect of the project and I highly recommend him.

The yard looks great!! We are so pleased with the landscaping! Thank you so much! We are so happy that we had you do it - we never would have been able to get it looking so good! I am so looking forward to putting a bench and bird house in the back and just sitting with a cup of coffee! The whole crew has been great and we really appreciate everyone's hard work.
